Find issues before they find you
Ardern & Druggan carries out structured electrical test and inspection for domestic, commercial and industrial clients across the Isle of Man. From condition reports to emergency lighting checks, the aim is simple: identify issues early, keep you compliant and reduce the risk of costly failures.
The checks we carry out
Testing is carried out for several reasons – not just to find faults, but to assess the safety and ongoing suitability of an installation. It is often required at the end of a tenancy, before a property changes hands, as part of maintenance cycles or to support energy efficiency work.
Ardern & Druggan employs staff qualified in test and inspection who use calibrated equipment and recognised procedures. You receive clear reports and practical advice on what needs attention, and in what order.

Portable appliance testing (PAT)
Inspection and testing of portable and plug‑in equipment to help you identify unsafe items, reduce the risk of electric shock or fire and keep your records up to date for insurers.
Load and usage assessments
Testing to identify loadings and review electrical usage, supporting energy efficiency upgrades and capacity planning.
How a typical test works
Plan the inspection
We confirm what needs to be tested, which areas will be covered and any access or shutdown requirements so there are no surprises on the day.
Carry out the testing
Our electricians work through the agreed circuits and systems in a structured way, clearly explaining any isolations and how long they will take.
Record the findings
Results are written up in a formal report, with observations graded so you can see which issues are safety‑critical and which are recommended improvements.
Plan any remedial work
We talk you through the report, provide quotes for remedial work where needed, or help you build the findings into a wider programme of upgrades.
Book your test and inspection
If you are a landlord, business owner or homeowner and are unsure when your electrics were last checked, now is the time to arrange it. A visit from Ardern & Druggan’s test and inspection team will give you a clear picture of the condition of your installation and any next steps.
